Our trainee Raymond has created an Italian inspired lunch to showcase his culinary skills at this month’s showcase lunch.
Raymond joined the Crumbs in 2017 after suffering from mental illness and low self esteem. When he originally joined the Project, Raymond was very quiet and appeared distant from others. He found his early days at Crumbs very challenging, with moments of doubt.
Despite this Raymond has preserved with his training- determined to achieve his long-term goal of gaining paid employment. He has worked extremely hard, developing his skills- becoming a confident Catering Assistant. Raymond has now become a role model for his peers and is often nominated to be a ‘Buddy’ for new trainees who lack confidence.
For this month’s showcase lunch Raymond has created a menu that incorporates lots of his own favourite foods and recipes he enjoys cooking. He will be responsible on the day for preparing the three course lunch, delegating tasks to his peers and supporting the team in serving the meal to our guests.
