Waitrose in Winton donated £290 through its Community Matters Scheme to The Crumbs Project to help vulnerable adults lead a life of independence.
Every month the branch on Wimborne Road donates £1,000 between three local good causes and recently The Crumbs Project was one of the three chosen. At the checkout, customers received a token and then places it in the box of the good cause that they wanted to support. The more tokens the charity gets, the bigger the donation they receive.
All money raised will help support adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues and stabilised addictions. The Crumbs Project provides specialist training services in catering, housekeeping and administration, and supports trainees into either paid or voluntary work placements.
The Crumbs Project Operations Manager, Leanne Miller said; “We really appreciate the support from the local community and Waitrose’s team in Winton for choosing The Crumbs Project as a nominated charity. The money raised will be used to buy resources and equipment, which will directly benefit our trainees.”
