Crumbs Set to Host Free Open Event

Join the Crumbs Project for their free charity open event on Tuesday 30th October, between 12pm and 2pm at their training facility in Bournemouth. The event aims to generate awareness of the charity and raise vital funds to transform the lives of those living with disabilities, mental health issues and stabilised addictions.

Visitors to the free event can enjoy light refreshments and a tour of charities professional training facility in Hibberd Court. A variety of entertainments will be available, including cooking demonstrations, taste tests, competitions and a raffle. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase some of Crumbs’ delicious baked goods, which will have been made by their team of mixed ability trainees.

The event which is open to the public will be supported by the Mayor of Bournemouth, Derek Borthwick who is a Patron of the charity. The Crumbs team look to welcome visitors unfamiliar with the charities unique training and catering services, as well as referral partners and local employers.

The Bournemouth based charity supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues and stabilised addictions by providing training for employment. Crumbs offers a place for vulnerable people to learn practical skills in catering, administration and housekeeping within a supported learning environment.

Crumbs’ Operation Manager, Leanne Miller said; “this is an ideal opportunity for those who have never heard of Crumbs to visit our training facility and find out what we do. Whether you’re interested in becoming a trainee, or know someone who may benefit from our services or considering becoming a Crumbs supporter – everyone is welcome to join us at our open event.”

The Crumbs Project open event takes place on Tuesday 30th October, between 12pm and 2pm at Hibberd Court, 20a Hibberd Way, Bournemouth, BH10 4EP. For further information about The Crumbs Project please visit www.crumbs.org.uk or call 01202 519320.
